Webquest Goals:
Students will learn about pioneers' experiences on the Oregon Trail. Using the online resources provided, Students will put themselves in the shoes of the pioneers traveling the Oregon Tail. Students will learn where, why and how these pioneers traveled, what they brought along and the many dangers they faced. Students will analyze the information to create their own experience on the Oregon Trail in the form of a letter to a friend back home.

- Background knowledge of pioneers (who they were).
- Settlement of the states prior to westward expansion.
- How to write a friendly letter (heading, greeting, body, closing, signature).
- How to write a personal narrative (descriptive language, sequence, closure).
- Computer skills (clicking links, transitioning between windows).
